On Monday, July 29, 2024, a meeting was held at the UNESCO Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology with the Early Education Licensing and Follow-up Department, in the presence of Dr. May Ahmed Shamandy Yassin, Acting Director of the Center, Ms. Fathia Ali Aish, Director of the Licensing Department, in addition to Ms. Maram Abdul-Majeed Al Qasimi, Capacity Building Specialist, Ms. Latifa Adel Busaibe, Educational Specialist, and Ms. Reem Fawaz Al-Shabanat, Assigned Teacher, to present the content of the training program "Sustainable Development Teacher in Kindergarten", which was implemented by UNESCO Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology in coordination with the Department of Licensing and Early Education Follow-up.
The training program aims to form the personality of the kindergarten teacher as a teacher for Sustainable Development in Kindergartens, so that kindergarten teachers are able to identify the characteristics of early childhood, the knowledge background of the Sustainable Development teacher, the ability to direct education for Sustainable Development in kindergartens, and finally the link between development goals and the curriculum in kindergartens, where it was agreed on the mechanism for implementing the training program with the Department of Early Education Licensing and Follow-up to be implemented for the benefit of all kindergarten teachers in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Regional Center seeks to expand the beneficiaries of its capabilities and training programs by providing comprehensive and effective support to enhance the technological skills and capabilities of members of the educational field.
It is worth mentioning that the program will be implemented in the future at the regional level in cooperation with the concerned departments of UNESCO, as discussed in the consultative meeting with Ms. Ruqayya Diwara, Education Specialist for Early Childhood Programs at UNESCO, and Ms. Farida Abudan, Education Programs Specialist at the Organization's Regional Center, on March 7, 2024 at the Center's headquarters.
