The UNESCO Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology participated in the tenth meeting of the Follow-up Group on the Implementation of Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) coordinated by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), organized by the Ministry of Education of the State of Salalah, Daffar governorate, in Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of the directors of the regional centres from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, and in the presence of representatives of the Ministries of Education of the GCC States and the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf Countries.
The objective of the two-day meeting was to follow up on progress made in achieving the goals of the fourth sustainable development goal through monitoring and follow-up indicators, to share best practices and initiatives among Council member States to achieve the goal, and to discuss the challenges associated with the indicators of the fourth goal and how to address them to achieve the objectives. The meeting also discussed the main recommendations and decisions of the meeting of the Ministerial Committee of Ministers of Education of the GCC Countries, held last month in Doha, Qatar, linked to the work of the Group.
