The establishment of the ICT Regional Centre in Bahrain was highly commended by HM the King.

HM the King, Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Nu'aimi who presented to HM the King the technical drawings of the ICT Regional Centre which will be set up in Bahrain. This centre is considered to be the first of its kind in the world that UNISCO has agreed to establish and supervise in the Kingdom.

Preliminary arrangements for the Centre establishment

HE Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nu'aimi, Minister of Education conferred with a delegation comprising senior officials at UNESCO's information and communication sector to discuss the project of establishing the ICT Regional Centre in Bahrain. UNESCO's general conference has agreed to establish the centre in Bahrain under the organization's supervision and care.

At Geneva Conference

The establishment of the centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain was officially announced.
During the 48th International educational conference held in Geneva, the minister of education Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nu’aimi briefed the audience on the details of establishing ICT Regional centre in Bahrain under UNESCO supervision to give specialized services at the local and regional levels.
